The family and I visited George Calombaris’ Hellenic Republic in Kew.

From top left going clockwise, we have the pita, spanakopita (spinach and fetta pastry pie), loukaniki (pork neck sausage), taramosalata (similar to haloumi, but grilled with figs), oursecond serving if pita and finally broccollini with dashi yoghurt.

No complaints. Honestly, everything was great but in particular, I was lusting after the spanakopita and it really hit the spot. The pita was also on point.

Next, we have the cypriot grain salad and lamb ribs. The lamb ribs were delicious, but there was so much fat that I was scared to eat it. We also got the chicken, but it didn’t look as beautiful plated as the other dishes, so I neglected to take a photo.

I send all my packages to my parent’s home cause I know that they will always get delivered, since someone is always home.

My Xiaomi phone finally came! It’s the redmi pro. I spent the bulk of the night customising it. It’s such a nice change to have memory and a larger screen.

Kill me. I finally finished my multiple choice online test. I don’t know why I do this to myself.

I visited my local hardware and gardening store because it was closing down. They ran out of worms, so I had to visit another store, but that’s okay. It’s worth it for 500 more pets for my composting worm farm. Eat my leftovers, my pretties.

I also bought a lime plant, beetroot seedlings and a strawberry plant. I also managed to get a free seedling tray from the nice lady at the counter. Life is good.

I spent the rest of  of my afternoon, making a new planner for next year. I ordered a Raydori (a more cost effective take on the very pricey Midori Traveler’s notebook). The Midori traveler’s notebook is both a concept and product. It’s essentially a system consisting of a sturdy cover, with thin notebooks titled ‘inserts’, that you can remove and attach and customise. The notebooks come in as many styles as you would like, from planners to notebooks and sketchbooks. Lined or gridded or blank, it’s your paradise.

img_5968-2I ordered the Field Notes size Raydori because I have a small collection of field notes notebooks.

I ruled up one of my dot-graph grid notebooks to a format somewhat similar to the Hobonichi monthly pages.

This way, I have a monthly planner that will sit perfectly inside my Raydori for little more than a fw hours of effort.

I wasn’t planning on doing anything today, but I my friend’s from high school called me out to hang. As a group, we’re pretty unorganised, but there was a bar I had really been wanting to visit. The Glamp Cocktail Bar.

The Glamp Cocktail Bar is on the highest level of the building, much like Rooftop Bar. Except, THERE IS A TEEPEE. TEEPEE!

It was quite dark, so I couldn’t get a good photo. The music was very odd at first, the DJ switched from old school RnB to rock to I don’t know what but each switch was confusing. Towards 10 o close, the music started getting really good though.

After drinks, we visited Joomak for Korean Pancakes. Yum.

Weekday Post

I have trouble sleeping.

Actually, that’s a bit of a lie.

I compulsively feel like I could do a little more before I sleep. Eventually, I end up sleeping way too late to function properly the next day.

Even after I put my phone away, my imagination runs wild. Counting sheep transforms into an adventure.

So I’m challenging myself to get 8 hours of sleep every day.

I’m a huge fan of Buzzfeed’s life challenges (see here) and I feel like it would be beneficial for me to challenge something each month. For October, it will be sleep. Something easy to begin with.
